Lisa is an entrepreneur and storyteller at the intersection of media and technology. As a multidisciplinary creator, she brings creativity, business acumen, and a unique point of view to her work.
Currently, Lisa is the founder of Intersect, a platform that connects offers learners and enthusiasts premium content and curated connections.
Lisa is the creator, executive producer, and host of Behind the Brilliance, a seasonal long form podcast featuring conversations and insights for the intellectually curious and relentlessly ambitious. Named New and Noteworthy by Apple, the show has more than 2 million downloads with a devoted listenership. Inc calls it a must listen to become a better conversationalist while Refinery29 named it among its Best Business podcasts that inspire women. The long list of illustrious guests include celebrities, CEOs, leaders, and the sharpest minds in personal development business, media, technology, and academia.
Lisa produces film, television, and digital content under her Emerald banner. She’s created more than 200 hours of content including scripted and unscripted projects for Paramount, Google, and others. She directed and produced The Emerging Artist Series, a digital docu-series, with Academy-award winning actress Viola Davis. Lisa served as a creative producer on Fair Game, the highly anticipated Australian feature length documentary about race, identity, and modern masculinity. The film premiered on SBS to record viewing numbers and is now being used in schools as a teaching tool.
Prior to her current ventures, Lisa started a standardized test preparation company, which was acquired. Lisa lends her business expertise to a mix of Fortune 500 brands and high growth technology startups as an advisor and investor. Her collaborations with AT&T, Procter & Gamble, SleepScore, and others consistently deliver positive outcomes. Lisa mentors and supports founders with DigitalUndivided, Propellant Labs, Female Founders Alliance, and Day One. Expanding her impact to philanthropy, she sat on EmpowHer’s advisory board and is a current member of the Leadership Council for the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles.
Named a Woman Making a Difference by the Los Angeles Business Journal, Lisa and her work have been seen in dozens of media outlets including Fast Company, Inc, Variety, Forbes, Refinery29, and more. Her awards and accolades include the Cable Positive Award, the SBA’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, and the NAACP Theatre Award among others. Lisa has been a guest lecturer at USC, UCLA, and Boston University and keynoted talks around the world including TEDx, Google, STRAW (Bahamas), and Techne (Egypt).
Lisa earned a degree in Business Law from California State University and later studied production and media business at UCLA.
When she’s not working, she can usually be found devouring a book, telling her loved ones corny jokes, or roaming through an art museum.
